RFi presents:
The Australian
Savings &
Deposits Conference

The deposits area of banking is arguably the most important. Responsible for ensuring sufficient liquidity to survive external stress and responsible for growth by winning main bank customers; deposits sit at the centre of bank profitability and sustainability.

RFi Group’s Annual Savings and Deposits conference examined and investigated the indicators and practice of success across the deposits portfolio in two major focus areas:

Everyday Banking – Improving performance in transaction accounts experience to win main bank share

Holding a customer’s transaction account is a ~90% indicator of holding the main bank relationship, yet transactions accounts are hard to win.  Global keynote speakers shared their successes in winning transaction accounts.  Experts in customer experience explained how they have designed processes and functionality to ensure that transaction account customers are converted into main bank customers to prep them for effective cross-sell and product deepening.

Liquidity – economic stressors and the importance of deposits best practice for regulatory compliance and sustainability

A panel of leading economists will debated the potential upcoming stressors in the Australian macroeconomic environment and highlight the importance of deposits strategy in this context and in the context of the requirements of Basel III.  Senior industry executives discussed the cultural, macroeconomic and consumer sentiment factors that drive consumers’ rate sensitivity and competition in deposits.
